It has been six months since we launched the new Goalball
website and we continue to enhance and improve the site to meet the needs of
the Goalball Community. We are fortunate to have additional help in making the
Goalball Committee's website the best it can be and I would like to welcome
Darren Hamilton as our new webmaster and acknowledge the work of Bill Teale who
will continue to support the site. With Darren joining the team look for
further improvements over the coming months. If you have any suggestions on how
we can improve the site to meet the needs of the International Goalball
Community please contact Darren.
Since my last note there have been a number of
significant developments that I can report .The competitive growth and regional
expansion of our sport over the past several years has resulted in Goalball
being awarded two additional women's team slots for the London 2012 Paralympics
which is recognition by the IPC of the growth of Goalball within the Paralympic
Movement. Recently Goalball has formed a
coach's committee lead by Gokhan Ince of Turkey, we have introduced an
equipment certification policy and we completed the first of several Referee
re-certification clinics. During the next few months we will be informing you
of several new initiatives.
